Staff is requesting the council adopt the attached resolution amending resolution 07-88 establishing the
Heritage Preservation Commission meeting dates.
Background/Discussion
The Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) is requesting that their meeting dates be changed to the
third Thursdays of the month at 6:00 p.m. The HPC currently meets on the second Tuesday of the
month which occasionally causes scheduling conflicts for staff. The previous meeting dates were
established based on the Planning Commission changing their dates; however, since the Planning
Commission has decided not to change their meeting dates at this time, The HPC would like to change
their meeting dates. The changes would go into effect on February 20, 2008.

RESOLUTION 08-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 07-88 ESTABLISHING THE
HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING DATES
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council has previously established an advisory committee
related to issues pertaining to the historical, archaeological, engineering, and cultural heritage
of the City of Elk River; and
WHEREAS, the Elk River Ciry Council previously adopted Chapter 2, Division 2 of the
Elk River City Code, establishing the Heritage Preservation Commission; and
WHEREAS, Elk River City Code, Section 2-215, titled, "Meetings and rules of
procedure," calls for the City Council to establish by resolution the meeting dates, times, and
locations of the Heritage Preservation Commission.
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council adopted Resolution 07-88 establishing the
Heritage Preservation Commission meetings for the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00
p.m. at City Hall
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ciry Council of the City of Elk River
that effective February 18, 2008, the Elk River Heritage Preservation
Commission shall meet on the third Thursday of the month, at 6:00 p.m.,
at Ciry Hall.
