Authorization to post a Request for Proposals for long grass abatement and junk yard abatement on the
City's webpage and in the Star Nezvr.
Background/Discussion
It will be necessary to hire one or more contractors to perform grass cutting or debris removal for
properties as part of the abatement phase of the code enforcement program. Staff is requesting
authorization to post an advertisement for Request for Proposals (RFP), with the goal that the Council
would select the company(s) by April.
It is anticipated that there will be two companies, one for grass abatement, and another for junk removal/
disposal, although one company will not be restricted from submitting a proposal for both.
Financial Impact
The costs for the abatement activity will be paid by the property owner, either through direct payment or
assessment.
