Action Requested
Due to the recent resignation of custodian Tim Gasper, staff is requesting Council approval to replace
Tim's position with a contract cleaning company
Background/Discussion
Staff has reviewed four quotes fox cleatung services. Carlson Building Services, Inc. came in the lowest at
the amount of $1,38).82 per month fox two years. Carlson Building Services is currently employed by the
City of St. Michael, City of Delano, and the City Of Ramsey. All of which have given good references.
The facilities effected axe Lions Paxk Centex, the Activity Centex, the Program Facility, and the Trout
Brook Barn. Staff feels that the use of contract cleaners at these locations would be in the city's best
interest
Financial Impact
This will be funded from budgeted funds fox Tim Gasper in 2008 and wlll result in an actual budget
savings of several thousand dollars. In addition, Carlson will supply their own vacuums. This will also
eliminate the need fox one vehicle from the fleet.
