SUBJECT: Resolution appointing election judges for General Election
Attached is a resolution, which appoints election judges for the General Election on
November 5, 2002. The City has 8 polling locations. Staff is requesting appointment of
80 judges, 10 per polling location. Pay for election judges is as follows:
Chief Judge - $10.00 per hour
Assistant Chief Judge o $9.00 per hour
Election Judge - $8.00 per hour
Election judge duties at a polling location generally consists of the following:
1 - Chief Judge
1 - Assistant Chief Judge
1 - Greeter Judge
2-3 - Registration Judges
1-2 - Roster Judges
1 - Demonstration Judge
1 - Ballot Judge
1 - Vote Tabulator Judge
ACTION REQUESTED
Council motion adopting the attached resolution appointing election judges for the
General Election.
RESOLUTION 02-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE
GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 5, 2002
WHEREAS,
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 204B.21(2), the City Council
shall appoint elections judges for four wards within the City;
and
WHEREAS,
all election judges appointed by the City Council are
qualified to be trained election judges and will be certified by
the County Auditor as trained election judges; and
WHEREAS,
all election judges will take an oath solemnly swearing to
perform the duties of election judge according to law and the
best of their ability and to diligently endeavor to ensure the
integrity, privacy and accuracy of the election process on
November 5, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River, Minnesota, that the following persons be appointed as election
judges to serve at the General Election on November 5, 2002.
