3.5. SR 09-16-2002MEMORANDUM Item TO: FROM: DATE: Mayor and Council Pat Klaers, City Administ .~. September 16, 2002 SUBJECT: Consider Approval of Northbound Liquor Security System Upgrade ~3.5. Attached for your information is a memo from Liquor Store Manager Dave Powin regarding a security system upgrade at the liquor store. Please note that the city has received a grant for one-half of the cost of the security upgrade. Dave worked with Fire Chief (and safety coordinator) Bruce West in obtaining this grant. It should also be noted that the other two entities providing quotes for this security upgrade were Dell Com Inc. and the Elk River Utilities. Wellington was the low quote and they also supplied the original security system at the liquor store. Accordingly, the Wellington product will match and be compatible with the existing security system. Work will begin immediately upon Council approval This item is not in the 2002 liquor store budget, so the city share will come from liquor store rese~es. MEMORANDUM TO: Pat Klaers, City Administrator FROM: DATE: et e Potvin, Liquor Store Manager ember 9, 2002 SUBJECT: Security System Upgrade for Northbound Liquor The safety grant that I applied for through the Minnesota Department of Labor has been awarded and I can now purchase our new cameras, multiplexer and DVR. As I have already informed you in a previous memo, this equipment was not in the 2002 budget so I assume that I will need council approval. I received 3 proposals and have chosen Wellington Security Systems. The total cost will be $7,563.00 with 50% ($3,781.50) being reimbursed to us through the grant.
