Consider Hiring Assistant Cable Producer
Aaron Shoemaker the City's Assistant Cable Producer gave his resignation some time ago.
He has been helping us out by coming in and taping the meetings until we could find
someone to hire.
We received 7 applications and interviewed four candidates for the position. Of the four
interviewed, two were very qualified. Staff is recommending that the Council hire Gregory
Gengler as the Assistant Cable Producer for the City of Elk River at a starting wage of
$11.00 per hour and moving to $12.00 per hour following a successful 6-month orientation
period.
This position is not in the city's pay plan at this time. We have not had anyone in the
position long enough to complete a job analysis questionnaire (JAQ). The personnel
committee has requested that a jAQ be completed for this position after the employee has
completed one year of service.
ACTION REQUESTED
1. Accept Aaron Shoemaker's resignation
Authorize the hiring of Gregory Gengler as Assistant Cable Producer at a starting
wage of $11.00 per hour with an increase to $12.00 per hour based on a successful 6-
month orientation.
