Temporary On-Sale Liquor License
Applicant:
Elk River Lion's Club
Background:
The Elk River Lion's Club has made application for a one-day temporary on-sale liquor
license. The Lion's will be serving wine at a fund raiser at the Boy's and Girl's Club on
December 4, 2002. Information on the event is attached.
Action Requested:
Council motion approving the temporary on-sale liquor license for the Lion's Club.

Dear Partner:
The Boys & Girls Club, which serves approximately 1300 youth
ages 6-18 each year, will be hosting our second annual Taste of the
Holidays Fund-raiser on December 4, 2002. Currently, we are serving a
number of youth that live in your community.
We are offering you an opportunity to donate an item for our silent
auction. Each donation will be labeled informing bidders who donated the
item and where the item may be purchased.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 in operating funds for the Boys & Girls
Club while also increasing shopping and spending in your area during this
holiday season.
We have enclosed an information sheet on our event. If you have
any further questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 763-241-5000. We
are generally in the office from 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday.
Thank you for your consideration of support to our organization. It
truly does "take a village to raise a child".

Second Annual Taste of the Holidays Fund Raiser
This is your confirmation letter for our second annual Taste of the Holidays
fundraiser. This year our event is Wednesday, December 4, 2002 from 6:30-
9:00 p.m.
This event will include, social time, a silent auction, wine and Champaign
tasting, holiday music, live entertainment and hot and cold hors d 'oeuvres.
You will have a chance to learn about the Clubs programs, meet the staff
and ask questions about our success stories.
The results of the silent auction will be announced at 8:45. The items for the
auction will be on display throughout the evening.
If you are interested in attending the event this year, please return this form
with payment to the Club by Friday, November 23, 2002. If you will not
have any representation from your company, please let us know so we can
confirm food reservations with the caterer.
Again, we greatly appreciate your support for this event and look forward to
