SUBJECT: Waste Oil Furnace
Last May, we applied to the Sherburne County SCORE Committee for a grant to purchase a
waste oil furnace to be used for supplemental heat for the street garage. The furnace will be
used to burn the waste oil that we collect from City vehicle maintenance, as well as what is
collected at the public waste oil drop off. The furnace and supply tank will cost $5,000. The
City must fund the equipment and the county will reimburse $3,600 with SCORE funding.
Recommendation:
City Council approve the purchase of the 250,000 BTU clean burn furnace from Derson Tank
Co. in Watertown, MN with landfill abatement funds.
