Consider Building Permit Fees for Elk River Rotary Club's
Restoration of Handke Stadium
As the Council is aware, the Elk River Rotary Club is proposing to restore the stonework
at Handke Stadium. The part of this project that will take place this year is the
restoration of the warming house.
The building permit fee, including the plan check fee, for this work is $162.22. Staff
would like to waive the permit fee for this job, but is concerned with setting a precedent.
Since it is a nonprofit organization (the Rotary Club) doing work on a public facility that
they do not own or directly benefit from and the project is for the public's benefit, staff
does not feel that waiving this fee will set an inappropriate precedent. Staff is
recommending the Council waive the building permit for the restoration of
Handke Stadium.
