RE: JACKSON AVENUE LIFT STATION MODIFICATIONS
Dear Council Members:
We have tabulated the bids received last Tuesday, Apdl 2, 2002, for the maintenance
improvements at the Jackson Avenue Lift Station. These improvements consist of
budgeted equipment replacement and electrical service entry modifications. There were
a total of two bids received. The following list provides the bidders and their total bid:
Quality Flow Systems, Inc.
Davies/Northem Water Works
$43,600.00
$49,908.O3
The amount budgeted fro these improvements was $44,000. The Iow bid received from
Quality Flow Systems, Inc., is within the anticipated budget amount for these
improvements. It will likely be slightly over budget when a small amount of overhead is
applied to this project. Quality Flow Systems, Inc., has previously completed similar type
projects successfully for the City of Elk River. We would therefore recommend award to
them as the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $43,600.00. Attached is a
resolution for the City Council's consideration which would award the contract to Quality
Flow Systems, Inc.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, I will be in attendance at your April 15,
2002, City Council meeting.
Sincerely,
Howard R. Green Company
