The Planning Commission met on Tuesday, April 9th with Frank Dunbar of Dunbar
Development Corporation in regards to a 120-unit apartment project proposed to be located
west of Jackson Avenue between the 6th and 8~ Street alignments. Mr. Dunbar will continue
to have discussions with staff and the Planning Commission regarding this project. A
mobile tour of a similar project in Maple Grove is anticipated to occur for the May
workshop meeting. Mr. Dunbar is not requesting any assistance to complete this project, as
these are proposed to be market-rate apartments, with rents in the $750-$1,200 range. This
proposal will require a land use amendment, a rezoning, and a plat. We anticipate
conducting a neighborhood meeting prior to formal application before the Planning
Commission.
