SUBJECT: Accept Resignation of Building Inspector Clayton Talbot and
Authorize Advertising to Hire
Building Inspector Clayton Talbot has accepted a job with the City of St. Michael. Attached
to this memo is his letter of resignation. Clayton has worked for the city since June of 2001.
We wish him well in his new position. Staff recommends the City Council accept Mr.
Talbot's resignation.
Staff will take another look at the applications recently received for the position of building
inspector, but we may wish to look further. Staff is requesting authorization to advertise for
this position, if needed.

Dear Steve Rohlf,
I am writing this letter to inform you that my last day of employment with the City of Elk River
will be Wednesday, March 27, 2002. I have accepted a building inspector's position with another
local municipality. Even though my tender with the City of Elk River was short, I would like to
thank all City Employees who made my job so enjoyable. I would especially like to give a warm
praise of thanks to the great complimentary cast of co-workers which whom I had the pleasure of
working with in the B&Z Department.
