Authorization to Increase Hours of the Senior Center Program
Assistant
Request
For Annette Bonin to increase her hours from 20 to 30 hours per week at $12.00 per hour.
The Senior Center Program Assistant was approved in the 2002 budget for 30 hours per
week at $12.00 per hour.
Because we will be moving some activities to the Lions Park Center building, we need to
increase our staff coverage. Increased hours will also allow for more administrative hours to
develop new programming. Many of our programs are lead by volunteers. However, we have
been unable to recruit long-term volunteers to lead our Humanities Discussion group and
Creative Writing group. These are two of our higher level, mentally challenging programs
that appeal to some of our participants. The increase in hours will allow us to continue these
programs and develop others. Annette will be taking on additional duties of planning and
leading.
Action Requested
Council authorization to increase Annette Bonin, Senior Center Program Assistant, from 20
hours to 30 hours per week starting Monday, February 4, 2002, at a rate of $12.00 per hour
as approved in the 2002 budget.
