Appointment of Vice Mayor
As part of the annual business meeting, the council is required to appoint a vice mayor. The
vice mayor performs the duties of the mayor during the disability or absence of the mayor
from the city or, if there is a vacancy, until a successor has been appointed.
Although all council members are eligible for this appointment at any time, it has been past
practice to rotate this position. Listed below are vice mayor appointments for the past four
years.
