Approve Pay Equity Implementation Report
The 1984 Local Government Pay Equity Act (Act) requires that each local government
jurisdiction report its pay data to the Minnesot~ Department of Employee Relations
(DOER) every three years to determine its cor~phance with the Act. The City's report due
on January 31, 2002, indicates that the City is again in compliance with the Act.
Copies of the compliance and implementation }eports are attached for your review. In order
to be in compliance, the underpayment ratio mCst be in excess of 80 percent, or if it is less
than 80 percent, the T-test results must pass. The City's underpayment ratio is 77.6%, but
the T-test results pass. The DOER will reviewithe reports and notify the City of the results;
however, based on the information presented, it appears that the City is in compliance ~vith
the Act as of December 31, 2001.
Action Requested
The City Council is asked to approve the pay equity implementation and compliance reports
as attached.
