Authorization to Hire Part Time Office Assistant at City Recreation

! am requesting authorization to hire Lana Huberty for the part time Office Assistant position. We
received 10 applications and staff interviewed 3 candidates. Lana lives in the area with her family. She
has a Park and Recreation degree and has served on the Park and Recreation Commission for over 5
years. This position would begin immediately as a Grade 5 Step B with a rate of pay beginning at
$12.15/hr. Lana will be working fewer than the planned 25 hours per week until March 6th at which
time she would begin working the full schedule. Upon successful completion of her review, she would
be eligible for her step increase 6 months from date of hire. This fits within our 2002 budget.
