AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE OFFICER
This is to inform the city council that we have completed the preliminary selection process
for the position of police officer. I am now requesting authorization to make a conditional
offer of employment to our top candidate, Jason Anderson. Jason is a deputy sheriff with
the Cass County, Minnesota, Sheriff's Department.
This offer is contingent on him successfully passing the medical exam, psychological
evaluation, and the remainder of his background checks. If he successfully passes the
remainder of the selection process, I would like him to start on February 28, 2002. His
starting rate of pay would be at the ftrst step of the police officer pay plan.
