SUBJECT: Truck Purchases
The 2001 department budget includes capital outlays for the purchase of a
l-ton pickup, accompanied by a fiat bed and crane, and a ~A-ton pickup. These
vehicles will replace two 1986 trucks. The l-ton and crane are used to remove
pumps from lift stations for repair and maintenance. The following quotes
were received:

Recommendation
It is my recommendation that the l-ton and ~A-ton truck be purchased from
Elk River Ford. I would also recommend that the fiat bed and crane be
purchased from J-Craft. Phil Hals, with the Street/Park Department, has the
J-Craft fiat beds and Mr. Hals highly recommends them even though the price
is slightly higher.
