Consider National Planning Conference Attendance for Director of
Planning
The National Planning Conference conducted by the American Planning
Association will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, March 10-14, 2001. There
are a number of sessions to attend including those on downtown redevelopment,
sprawl, use of GIS for land use and census analysis, transportation studies, and
Federal land use law. The 2001 budget has funds for the attendance of one
Planning staff person to the National Conference.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Council authorize attendance to the National Planning
Conference for the Director of Planning.
