Purchase of l-Ton Dump Truck for Street/Park
Department
The 2001 General Fund budget contains $25,000 for the purchase of two used
pick-up trucks. Following a vehicle evaluation, the street/park department
staff concludes that we would be better served with one l-ton truck with a
dump box.
A 1 ton dump truck can serve as basic transportation, a vehicle to two a lawn
mower trailer, or to haul black dirt, leaves, grass clippings, wood chips,
bituminous patch mix or any number of commodities.
We have priced seven units and have actually test driven the two that we felt
were the best value for the price.

Recommendation
The City Council is asked to approve the purchase of Vehicle 1 for $27,000
plus sales tax of $1,755, with $25,000 to come from the General Fund
budgeted amount and the balance to come from equipment reserves.
