A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE EXPANSION OF HOURS FOR THE
ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River (City) thanks the Great River Regional Library Board and
the Sherburne County Commission for their continual support of tlle Ell{ Ri,rer Public
Library (Library); and
WHEREAS, the City 11as invested continual support in the Librar)' tluough construction
of a ne\v Library facility in order to better service area patrons in a grO\ving community; and
WHEREAS, circulation of material accounts for over five percent of tlle Library's yearly
circulation bet\veen 1 0:00 a~ln. and noon during tlle four days tIler are currently open by
1 0:00 a.m~; and
WHEREAS, patrons are requesting more hours \vitll a consistent schedule and the current
Library hours are inconsistent and confusing;

And tlle City is requesting more consistent hours \vith an additional three hours per \veek in
tlle Library]s hours of operation:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council supports
the expansion of hours for the Elle River Public Library.
