Update on Planner Applicants
The City Council authorized advertisement to fill the park plannedplanner
position recently vacated by Steve Wensman. Ads were placed with the
Minneapolis Star Tribune, the League of Minnesota Cities Bulletin, the Minnesota
Chapter of the American Planning Association, and the Minnesota Chapter of the
American Society of Landscape Architects.
The application deadline was Friday, February 2, 2001, and five applications
were received. Of the five, four had met the minimum qualifications for the
position and will be interviewed on Wednesday, February 21, 2001. The
interview team will be comprised of the Director of Planning, the Senior Planner,
and the Streets/Parks Superintendent.
It is staffs intent to select a candidate for City Council approval on February 26,
2001.
