Hillside Estate Sub Division 8
This email is for all City Council Members.
Tomorrow night you will be voting on the approval of Hillside Estate
Subdivision 8.
My neighborhood will greatly be impacted by this addition. I understand the
need for the city to grow and that adding new homes is part of this growth.
But lets build homes and developments we can be proud of!!
The way this sub division has been handled by the developer is a crime. The
developer is only looking out for HIS best interest. He is definitely not
looking out for the neighborhood and for the best interest of the city.
We want a city and neighborhoods we can be proud of, not neighborhoods built
soley for the financial gain of the developer! Why is this developer being
allowed to cram in as many homes as he possibly can, when the plans are in
violation of the setback guidlines establshed?
Wasn't this development designed to be "upper scale" homes, similiar to
Layfayette Woods? Why then does it seem that goal of the developer is to
fit as many homes as possible? Why not allow larger lots or more open space
so that the people moving into this new neighborhood can move into a
neighborhood they are proud of, rather than realizing ,in the end, that they
were short-changed and sold a "less than desireable" lot? I heard the
developer comment at a city meeting, "people know what they are buying." But
do they? Why should we allow people to move into a neighborhood that was not
~esigned for their safety and well-being, but rather for the mere financial
jain of the developer?
Hillside Estates, as a whole, is a beautiful area. We realize that the
vacant land being utilized for subdivision eight contains beautiful
woodlands. Why not try to keep at least some of that woodlands, so that
again, people purchasing those lots and homes can say, "Wow, I moved into
this beautiful new development!" ? Or is the goal just to build as many
homes as possible and create even more traffic and conjestion.
My neighbor's and I expect the city council to do the right thing. To Vote
NO.
