Action Requested
Staff recommends approval of the General Planning Permit request fox temporary fireworks sales in a
1,200 square foot tent in the paxkutg lot of Menards as indicated on the site plan, with the following
conditions:
1. No electrical services shall be across any drive or walking surface.
2. All applicable fire codes shall be met.
3. If traffic becomes a problem around the temporary site, the sales area shall be delineated
with a harrier to restrict traffic.
4. The sales tent be maintained free of debris and kept in an orderly condition.
5. The location of the tent is consistent with the submitted site plan.
6. The tent area be removed by July 11, 2008 the site be returned to its previous condition.
Background/Discussion
The applicants axe requesting a General Planning Permit to conduct firework sales from a 1,200 square
foot sales tent located in the Menaxds parking lot, in the same location as last yeas. The fireworks sales
ate proposed from June 22, 2008 through July 5, 2008; however, the tent may he setup a couple days
prior to the sales starting. The proposed location is in the southwest corner of the parking lot, near
Evans Street. It appears that in this location the tent will not disrupt traffic flow nor will it create any
parking problems.
