UPDATE ON K-9 PROGRAM
This memo is to inform the City Council that as a result of Ron
Nierenhausen's promotion to sergeant, we would like to fill his K-9
position. This position is an assignment which generally lasts for
the duration of a working K-9 dog. As it turned out, the last
several months, Sergeant Nierenhausen's dog, Baron, was unavailable
to work because of a lingering illness.
Sergeant Nierenhausen has indicated an interest in keeping his dog
as a personal pet. We are in the process of drafting a release so
Sergeant Nierenhausen will assume all liability for Baron.
Our intention is to assign Officer Dave Dummer to the K-9 position,
acquire and train a new dog and have an operational K-9 Program in
the next several months.
