The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners cordially invites representatives of the City
Councils to discuss issues of common concern. The meeting date has been set for Thursday,
February 29, 1996, at 7:00 P.M.,.at the Government Center Board Room in Elk River. As
Sherburne County experiences its rapid growth, our common challenges multiply, almost daily.
The Board feels that it would be beneficial to set a pattern of communication between the City
Councils and the County Board so that communication is assured and the management of our
growth is coordinated. The Board expects that a first meeting could suggest topics of discussion
for future meetings, but for the first session, the following items may be considered:
Comprehensive Land Use Planning, Residential Development
Economic Development
· Transportation Planning, Highway Department Facilities Planning
Pending legislative issues
An agenda will be prepared for the meeting, Scheduled to cOnclude not later than 9:00 P.M. We
are hopeful that Mayors and members of the City Councils can attend, but at a minimum that your
City is represented.
