Request by ~fVVTP to Purchase Jet Truck
**Item 4.8.**
The 2003 wastewater department budget includes funds for replacement of the jet truck and
vacuum trailer. During the past year the department tested several different trucks. We have
determined that the Vac-Con equipment best fits our needs and also offers competitive
pricing.
This equipment would be purchased through the state contract from ABM Equipment
located in Hopkins. The price of the truck is $235,432.34, plus an additional $5,000 to set up
the truck with nozzles, toolboxes, and a radio. The wastewater department has received a
$10,000 safety grant to use toward the truck purchase. The total price of the truck and
equipment would be $240,432, minus the $10,000 safety grant for a total of $230,432 funded
by the city.
Action Requested
I am requesting authorization to purchase the new.let Vac Truck at a cost of $240,432 with
$10,000 of safety grant funds and $230,432 funded by the city.
