Consider initiating rezonings
of property within the Urban
Service Boundary
Overview
Staff has identified a total of 12 areas which need to be rezoned as
implementation of the Comprehensive Plan. Six of these areas were initiated
by the City Council last month and were presented to the Planning
Commission in January. The first six will be presented to the City Council
on February 20th for consideration.
Areas 7 - 12 are important rezonings, as they primarily relate to changing
the zoning within the ultimate urban service area. Most of these areas are
expected to develop as residential with a coupled planned for industrial.
Staff will be available at the Council meeting Monday night to answer any
questions the Council may have on these proposed areas to be rezoned.
Action Requested
The City Council is asked to consider initiating the rezonings of Areas 7 - 12
and direct staff to proceed with the public hearings before the Planning
Commission and City Council to consider these areas.
