Action Requested
The police department has an immediate opening for the position of full-time Community Service
Officer (CSO-1). A suitable candidate has been selected and a background investigation has been
completed. The police department would like authorization to hire Jesse Smith in the capacity of
Community Service Officer 1, with a start date of June 18, 2008.
Background/Discussion
This opening is due to a recent resignation. The Council authorized the replacement of this position
during the regularly scheduled meeting of June 2, 2008.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position for 2008 and the new employee will start at pay grade #2, step A ($12.76 per
hour)
