Staff will provide a verbal update at the HRA meeting on the following items: • Jackson Place • The Bluffs of Elk River In addition, a representative from Avalax Minnesota Real Estate will be at the HRA meeting to provide a brief update on the recent grand opening and marketing activities for the Bluffs of Elk River. Published: July 2, 2008 A Foreclosure Data Collection Working Group is hoping to make it easier for cities and foreclosure counselors to obtain comprehensive foreclosure information. With the exception of a few counties, foreclosure information is not accessible electronically or available online, and the state does not have any system to track comprehensive foreclosure data. Many cities that want foreclosure information must go to the county office and rummage through paper records. The Foreclosure Data Collection Working Group, which was created in 2008 Minnesota Laws, chapter 2 }_$, began meeting soon after the end of the legislative session. The group's charge is to study the most efficient and cost effective way to develop and implement an electronic system to submit, collect, and retrieve statewide foreclosure information. To accomplish the job, the group organized into three subgroups Mission and Impact, Design, and Data Collection-to study and give recommendations to the full group for a report due back to the Legislature by Feb. 15, 2009. The Mission and Impact Review subgroup is charged with answering why the information is needed, for whose use the data is intended, where funding will come from, and what new tasks are created by implementing an electronic system. The Design subgroup is charged with proposing a design for the electronic system by reviewing various models currently available and what counties are currently using. The Data Collection subgroup is responsible for making recommendations on what data elements are needed, the sources of each element, and at what time in the foreclosure process the information should be put into the database. To represent the needs of cities, the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) will actively participate in the subgroups and the working group.
