MEMORANDUM
Mayor and City Council
Darrel Mack, WWTS Superintendent
February 22, 1996
Hiring Mechanical Technician
I am recommending the hiring of Patrick Hendrickson for the Mechanical Technician/
WWTS Operator position we recently advertised for, with an anticipated start date of
March 18, 1996, at an hourly rate of $16.66 which is Step G in pay grade 14 of the pay
plan. At the end of Patrick's six month orientation period I would recommend moving
him up on-half step in the pay plan with the next half step on July 1, 1997 to get him on
the same schedule as all other employees.
This new mechanical technician position is a combination of the skills and duties for the
WWTP operator and the electro mechanical technician position. This new job description
reflects the duties and responsibilities and the knowledge, skills and abilities required for
this position which are greater than those required for a WWTP operator and lesser than
those required for an electro mechanical technician. The recommended point ranking for
this position is 79; the corresponding pay grade is G.
I will be attending Mondays council meeting to answer any questions you may have.
