Authorization to purchase recycled plastic furniture out of Landfill Abatement funds.
Background/Discussion
Over the years we have had video machines in a small area of the Arena which generated modest revenue
for the Arena. Over the years the amount of revenue has greatly diminished due to the fact that many
children have their own video systems at home. With some minor remodeling, this area is being
converted to a small open area where customers can gather and not be in the way of the traffic of people
getting in and out of the Arena. The tables and chairs will give customers the opportunity to sit down and
enjoy their favorite beverage and snack from the concession stand.
Financial Impact
The company we would be purchasing the tables and chairs from is having a State Fair sale the middle of
August. The sale is for 10% off the regular price, plus free shipping. This would reduce our cost by over
$800 bringing the cost of four tables and twelve chairs to $4,913.69. Shipping would take place three to
five weeks after the order is placed.
The furniture is made from recycled plastic and is eligible for funding from the landfill abatement funds.
