Joint Meeting

The joint meeting between the Sherburne County Board of Commissioners
and the Elk River City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, 1996,
from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Maple Conference Room in the Sherburne County
Government Center. Attached for your review is the agenda for this joint
meeting.
There is no background information for this meeting being offered with the
agenda as the meeting is intended to be a general discussion of issues and
updates on current events. Specific action on various issues by the Board or
Council is anticipated to take place at later meetings. City Engineer Terry
Maurer will be in attendance to discuss agenda items 2 and 3 with the Board
of Commissioners and City Council. I understand that County Engineer
Dave Schwarting will also be in attendance for these items.
Additionally, all Councilmembers should have previously received material
from the county on the 2/29/96 meeting (agenda item #1).

a. Transportation Plan
Status of Plan to be reviewed pending outcome of OSM reorganization.
There has been a stop order issued for the contract. We met with OSM on
2/8/96 to resolve this issue. They have agreed to complete the Data
Collection phase of the project by the end of March at no additional charge.
We will then reevaluate their proposal to complete the Plan.
b. CSAH #1 improvements
State Aid Project 71-601-15 CSAH 1 from CR 77 to CR 32
· 4-lane design consideration
- Must expand intersections @ TH 10 and School Street
· 3-lane design consideration
- can proceed with project now
- 4-lanes can be added when intersections are expanded
· Address City Trail design and Crossing
c. CSAH #12 Schedule
· 1997 construction with federal funds
