Program Update - Mayor Klinzing
Mayor K2inzing is scheduled to provide the City Council with an update on how the
transitional housing program is working. As you know, the city owns a single-family home
directly north of the golf course and offered this home to the Love Elk River group for a
transitional house. This group completed a number of household improvements to the
home (such as painting and carpeting) and a family has been in this home for a number of
months. Street/Park Superintendent Phil Hals has indicated that there have been very few
requests presented to him for work or maintenance associated with this house and property
since the Love Elk River group has leased the property.
Additionally, the City Council should note that sometime around summer 2003 it is expected
that the city will take ownership of the Bailey house next to the Library.
