Citizen Awards from the Elk River Police Department Lori Johnson, City Administrator

The Police Department will be on hand to present three awards to individuals or groups who have
distinguished themselves during the past year.
Background/Discussion
The first award, the Departmental Medal of Valor will be presented to Christopher Glenn for his
involvement in the apprehension of the suspect who tried to murder his father on 6-28-08 at 2:50am.
The second award, the Department Lifesaving Award will be given to Scott Sharp, for his efforts in
alerting the residents of the 1001 School Street fire, as well as his assistance in helping remove those
residents from the burning structure.
The last award, the Departmental Unit Citation will be awarded to the Elk River Football Team and their
coaches for their assistance at the School Street Fire.
Financial Impact
There is no fiscal impact.
