SUBJECT: Cleaning Contractors at the Library
In November, the City Council approved a 2-month trial period for Options, Inc. of Big Lake
to do the daily cleaning at the library. In mid-January, Options, Inc.'s performance was
reviewed and found to be deficient in several areas. City staff and library staff decided to
allow Options, Inc. one more month to raise the level of service that they provided.
We are now mid-month February, and Staff has again reviewed job performance of the
Options, Inc. cleaning services and it is our recommendation that we terminate the Options,
Inc. services. To this point the service level that they have provided has not met standards
that we feel are necessary for this building.
I will be on hand at the meeting to help answer questions.
Recommendation:
Terminate Options, Inc. as of February 28, 2003 and include the library cleaning with the City
Hall and Lions Center cleaning services performed by Toni Karpe.
