WESTWOOD AREA IMPROVEMENTS
SANITARY SEWER HOOKUP
Dear Westwood Area Residents:
As you are aware, when the utility improvements were completed in your neighborhood,
the City Council extended the time frame for hookup to the sanitary sewer system from
two years to four years. The end of that four year period will be October 1, 1996. This
leaves only one construction season left for the hookup to the City utility. If you have not
made arrangements to have your property connected to the sanitary sewer system, please
make arrangements to have this accomplished before October 1, 1996. Any questions
regarding the hookup can be answered by City Hall staff.
At the time of the improvements in your area, there was no requirement to hook up to the
water system. However, it is highly recommended that you consider connecting both
sanitary sewer and water at the same time. In fact, the Municipal Utilities have since had
an ordinance put in place making it mandatory to connect to the water system in the same
time frame as the sewer system. Of course, with your area being grandfathered in, this
does not apply to you.
