SUBJECT: Request for Charitable Gambling Funds
During the past several years, the city has received donations from hcensed
charitable gambhng organizations per the city's request. These contributions
have been used to supplement the city's financial support for the annual
Fourth of July celebration.
The city is once again seeking council authorization to request contributions
from local charitable gambhng organizations to assist in the city's financial
support of the Fourth of July celebration.
The city will be requesting $2,000 from each of the following organizations:
· American Legion
· Celebrity Bowl
· Elk River Youth Hockey
· VFW
· Elk River Lions
Although the city is submitting a request for $2,000 to each of the
organizations, some of the organizations may not be able to donate the full
amount. The city has informed each organization by letter that it would be
happy to accept whatever amount the organization feels it can contribute.
Action Requested:
Motion to request $2,000 from each of the following organizations to
supplement the city's financial support of the annual Fourth of July
celebration:
· American Legion
· Celebrity Bowl
· Elk River Youth Hockey
· VFW
· Elk River Lions
