Action Requested
Authorization to purchase park maintenance equipment.
Background/Discussion
Throughout the year, various divisions of the City sell equipment via auctions. Those proceeds have been
used to repurchase or upgrade equipment. During 2008, the park maintenance division disposed of
various pieces of equipment that were unused and/or exceeded its life expectancy. The division is seeking
authorization to purchase the following pieces of equipment in which quotes were obtained:
1) Stump Grinder (Lano Equipment) - $5,473.50 tax included
2) Utility/Skid-steer Trailer (Lano Equipment) - $6,632.55 tax included
3) Kubota Utility Vehicle (Lano Equipment) - $19,038.86 tax included
In addition, some of these pieces of equipment are in the 10 year equipment replacement plan and could
be eliminated if purchased currently.
Financial Impact
These purchases will be funded from auction proceeds related to park maintenance equipment received in
2008; no general fund impact.
