Staff has received a request from Dare's Funeral Services, Inc., for No
Parking signs to be installed on the west side of King Avenue, south of Main
Street. There is room for three (maybe four) vehicles along the curb. Mr.
Dare is indicating that there is a safety concern in this area related to
visibility for his customers coming out of his parking area. This would also
help accommodate the coordination of the funeral procession by not blocking
the intersection or the drive through bank teller prematurely.
Representatives of the First National Bank have not commented on this
request, but are expected to by Monday's meeting. The Chief of Police will be
at Monday's meeting if the Council has any safety questions for him related
to this request.
If concerns are expressed by the Bank, this request will be removed from the
consent agenda.
