Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Consent December 1, 2008 Jessica Miller, Executive Secreta /De u Ci Clerk Item Description Reviewed by Resolution Acknowledging Contribution from the Sherburne Tina Allaxd, Ci Clerk County Attorney's Office to the Elk River Police Department Reviewed by Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator Action Requested The Mayor and City Council are asked to adopt the attached resolution acknowledging the monetary contribution from the Sherburne County Attorney's Office pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 465.03. Background/Discussion A grant was received from the Office of Traffic Safety Safe & Sober Division for high visibility enforcement in Sherburne County. With this grant officers will be out on Friday night with high visibility vests to let drivers know to be safe and sober before they go out to drink and drive. The Ciry of Elk River Police Department received a $1,000 donation from the Sherburne County Attorney's Office with the intent that it be used to purchase high visibility vests for this program. Financial Impact A contribution in the amount of $1,000 was received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, by at least atwo-thirds vote, to acknowledge the support and commend the Sherburne County Attorney's Office for their donation.
