One of our new programs currently being offered is the Mom's Time Out class. This class allows
parents a safe and fun environment in which to drop off their children while they run errands.
During the class kids enjoy a variety of activities including open play time and group activities.
Moms Time Out is designed for youth ages 15 months to 10 years of age and has received good
reviews from participants.

Special Marketing Efforts
We are currently working on incorporating cell phone texting as a new marketing method. This
tool would allow participants to sign up to receive text messages regarding program information
and updates. The system would allow us to target specific groups based on their particular
interest such as youth sports or special events.
Special marketing efforts were focused on the following programs in October:
• Open Gyms • Eager Elks Soccer and Sports
• Women's Volleyball Sampler
• Pre-school Programs at YMCA • Stamp A Stack of Holiday Cards

• 306 Optional memberships have been paid for 2008
• 258 Memberships for 2009 have been paid.
• "Bone Builders" is starting to get new members at the Activity Centex (413). It was not
successful at the 350 Evans site. Bone Builders is a program designed for Osteoporosis and
Weight Bearing Exercise. This class is free and is led by trained volunteers.
• Enhance Fitness started Nov 3. An exercise program that is sponsored by UCare. Includes
strength training, flexibility, balance, aerobic & cardio. This class now has 15 regular
members that meet 2x per week.
November /December Special Programs
11-4 350 Evans Site sponsored "Bingo for C.A.E.R." $200 cash donated.
11-8 "Challenges of Memory Loss" Program co-sponsored with Faith In Action (413 Proctor)
12-3 First Anniversary of opening the Activity Centex Doors. Over 14,198 people have come to
the Activity Center in one year.
12-11 Hearing Loss Program (350 Evans)
12-30 Members Open House and Holiday Party 2-4pm. (413 Proctor)

Hot Topic s~ of the Month
• New Zamboni is in use with completed advertising.
• Security Cameras are installed.
• Winter session of Skating Academy has begun.
• 2009 Ice Show has been scheduled for 5/16-5/17/09; registration forms are available.
• Meeting will take place 12/10 with the Monticello and Rogers arenas to discuss the Spring
Breakaway program. Program begins mid March 2009.
December Programs
• Movie on Ice "Mighty Ducks" will be on 12/7.
• High School Girls Hockey Youth Night will be 12/13.
• Skate with Santa will be 12/14.
Special Marketing Efforts
• Monthly if not weekly emails are being sent to all Youth Hockey Members, Fall Breakaway
participants and currently enrolled Learn to Skate Students to inform them of upcoming
events.
• Large door posters for upcoming events are being used with the aid of Chris Leeseburg in
the planning department.
