Coordinator DATE: February 7, 2008 SUBJECT: Staff Report Hot Topic(s) of the Month We are full swing into summer programming. We are excited to bring back many of our favorites as well as looking to add some new opportunities. We will be adding neighborhood playground programs, more youth opportunities, and looking for ways to serve our growing teen population at Lions Park. We are also working with the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club and Community Education to put on a new event to kick off summer called Youth Expo. anuary Programs Open gyms, Girl Power, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Eager Elks Soccer, Preschool classes at Trott Brook Barn, BLAST, Parent's Night Out, Youth Bead Day, Art camps, warming house, Skate Races, Boot Hockey, Rink Rat Hockey, beginning archery, scrap booking retreat, adult fitness classes, and Skating Academy. Special Marketing Efforts Spring Program Guide has been mailed out and registration is underway. Staff was able to put our web site link regarding Open Gyms on the Youth Basketball website; we have already seen an increase in attendance. Staff started advertising and taking registrations for the 11 `'' Annual Ice Show. Facili , Use We reserved 174 hours of facility use in January. 122 hours was indoor facility use, 32 hours was hockey rinks, and the remaining 20 hours was for miscellaneous park and trail use. Working on fundraising fox a baby grand piano for new activity center. Fundraising has started and donations are coming in.
