Action Requested
Open and close the public hearing. Anew public hearing will be advertised for the review of the sign
ordinance update authorized by the Council at the December 1, 2008 meeting.
Summary
In June, the City Council approved language that amended the Zoning Ordinance pertaining to menu
boards. An official ordinance was never developed for codification. To make clear the direction of the
Council, staff was preparing an ordinance for review by the Planning Commission and City Council, a
public hearing was scheduled for the December meetings.
With the recent authorization to review the comprehensive sign ordinance, staff intends to incorporate
the proposed changes into the global ordinance being prepared. Anew public hearing will be held when
the global ordinance has progressed to the point of review, anticipated for Apri12009.
