SUBJECT: Consider Amendment to the 2003 Park CIP Budget

The City Council adopted the attached park CIP expenditures for 2003 at their February 18,
2003 meeting.
We are now in the process of working with Scott Breuer to construct the shell of the
concession stand at the Youth Athletic Complex. The CIP budget included $21,000 to
cover the labor costs for footings, foundation and framing work on the concession stand.
However, after further review of the materials obtained by Area #728 Baseball, we are
approximately $5,500 short in materials needed to complete the framing and enclose the
building. Girls Softball will be providing a cash donation of $2,000 to defray a portion of
the shortfall, however, there is still $3,500 in materials outstanding. In order to ensure that
the shell is completed this spring, we are requesting authorization to add an addition $3,500
to the 2003 CIP budget from the Park Dedication Fund.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize an additional $3,500 expenditure from the
Park Dedication Fund for the purchase of materials for the Youth Athletic Complex
concession stand.
