SUBJECT: April 19, 2008 Energy Expo Update
Spectrum Charter School held their kick-off for the Expo on February 7, 2008. The
students toured the library and had presentations on February 8, 2008 to help them
with ideas for their projects.
Donations haven't changed much from our last meeting. The expo has received
approximately $30,000 which is up by approximately $ 15,000 from last year. However,
the city's contribution is less this year and we have the added expense of the tent.
There are about 20 exhibitors signed up, some of which are also sponsors. There are
about 9 exhibitors that are still deciding. If you have any connections with those who
are undecided, please try to encourage them to attend.
The awards for all three contests have been ordered. There has been a huge popularity
in the coloring contest. If possible, it would be nice to display the coloring contest
winners at the council dais the Monday before and after the event.
I have attached a list of sponsors and exhibitors. I will also have flyers available for the
Commission to take and distribute. The subcommittee has not yet scheduled their next
meeting and will need to do so.
