Mr. Bruce West, Chief

13065 Orono Parkway
Elk River, MN 55330
Dear Chief West:
We are pleased to inform you that your jurisdiction has been approved for a grant
from the Citizen Corps Council/Community Emergency Response Team Grant
Program (FY 2002 Federal Supplemental Appropriation). Your grant award was in
the amount of $19,000.00. The amount awarded includes $6,000.00 to form and
support Citizen Corps Council efforts in your community and $13,000.00 to develop
and maintain a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
You may start work on your plans to develop Citizen Corps Councils and CERT
programs immediately. We are currently working on the grant agreement for the
program, and will forward copies of it to you when it is completed. The Division is
also preparing to host several CERT Train-the-Trainer courses for people from
participating communities who wish to instruct. Our hope is to have the first CERT
TTT session in late April.
If you have any questions about your grant, or about how to proceed from this point,
please feel free to call me at (651) 215-6947.
Sincerely,
Dennis Walter
