YMCA Update
The YMCA project has gone out to bid in two packages. Construction is antictpated
to begin in September of 2007.
YAC
Staff has been working with HKGi to developed phased in improvements at the
Youth Athletic Complex. It appears that there may be $50,000 available for a fall
2007 project. It is hoped that further information will be available
Lunch Time Concert Series
There have been 3 performances of the Tuesday lunchtime concert series attendance
has been slowly building but the hot weather may be impacting attendance.
Lions Park Band Shell
Since the Park Commission's recommendation to remove the band shell roof, staff
has received many comments from the community. Several suggestions have bee
made as to how the band shell could be modified to prevent the current problems.
Staff will be meeting with service clubs and community members to explore all the
various options. The goal will be to have a recomendation with in the next two
weeks so that something is done early in the school year.
Ice Arena Barn Roof
Staff is getting quotes for having a structural engineer examine the ice arena "barn"
roof. The structure is over 35 years old and has gone through several modifications
Staff wants to make sure the roof is capable of withstanding severe snow load.
