SUBJECT: Meadowvale Heights Park Playground
Residents from the neighborhoods adjacent to Meadowvale Heights Park were invited to
attend a workshop after the July 11`'' Parks & Recreation Commission meeting. Staff
provided large posters full of various playground equipment and the residents were given
brightly colored dot stickers for them to apply to the equipment they liked. The posters
were then given to the playground designers, which they used to come up with a
recommendation for what type of structure could be built in Meadowvale Heights Park. One
factor in the playground design was the preferred location. Due to limited space, free
standing elements such as swing sets were not included.
Staff recommends building a playground in Meadowvale Heights Park in 2008 for $50,000.
Budget would include playground equipment, benches, picnic table and cement edging for
the perimeter of the playground.
Staff will provide a location map on August 8`''.

accidents or delays beyond our control. Owner is to carry fire, tornado and other necessary insurance.
