SUBJECT: Major Park Use/River's Edge Commons Park Racchs Wedding
Re uest
We have received a major park use request to use River's Edge Commons Park on Saturday,
September 13, 2008 for a wedding. They expect approximately 80 people at this event and
will be bringing an arch way, decorations, outdoor type chairs and a canopy that is suitable
for a hard surface. Time of the event request is 10am-8pm.
River's Edge Commons Park is a beautiful place to hold weddings or other specialty type
events. This type of use brings more activity to the park which will lead to more
maintenance.
As discussed at the August Parks and Recreation Commission meeting this type of use was
approved at $100 rental fee, $250 refundable clean up deposit fee and renter securing and
paying for extra portable toilets if needed.
Staff Recommendations
Staff recommends keeping the upper plaza of the park open to the general public, allowing
this use for $100 rental fee, $250 refundable deposit and requiring renter to secure and pay
for extra portable toilets if needed. Permit will include a reminder of park use rules.
